AIESEC’s customer segment are young people, specifically University students. We want these young people to engage with our product, our Leadership Development Experiences, by either participating as an Exchange Participant for our internal programs (incoming / outgoing Global Citizen and outgoing/incoming Global Talent) or as an internal member (Youth Talent).
Our true value proposition for our products is leadership development, according to our Leadership Development Model (LDM) - which shapes young people to be more Self Aware, more Solution Oriented, able to Empower Others, and a World Citizen. These qualities are developed by ensuring AIESEC’s Inner & Outer Journey experience to our customers, our students.
AIESEC’s main source of revenue comes from increased program participation for our exchange programs. We receive money from students who go abroad through us and from companies who take on the responsibility of being a host for interns.
AIESEC strives to keep an excellent relationship with our customers. In order to ensure quality of our experiences, we implement 16 Standards to ensure Satisfaction for our exchange experiences. And 6 Standards that we follow for our member experiences, called the Team Standards.
For more information see Team Standards (TM/ Teamstandards).
The channels we use to reach our customers include a variety of digital and physical channels. This can be used not just for marketing and initial attraction purposes, but to deliver our value - our Leadership Development Model. AIESEC provides our customers with Leadership Development spaces - which includes but is not limited to, one-on-ones, team meetings and team activities, conferences, workshops, seminars, and virtual channels. We are always looking for ways to focus and improve our channels of how we reach our people.
AIESEC has many resources, our biggest and most valuable one is our digital platform, EXPA (short for, “Experience AIESEC”), where we have a database of our potential, in progress, current, and previous exchange participants and members from around the world. Also on EXPA, is all the open company opportunities from around the world. AIESEC in Germany also uses Salesforce to manage our customer database,.
The main activities that a customer of AIESEC goes through can include a variety of things, as we have many different jobs and roles, within AIESEC as a member or as an exchange participant. This is why all activities can be categorized as the participant’s Inner & Outer Journey, the experience our customers go through while in AIESEC. This Inner & Outer Journey is what allows us to develop young people into the leaders that the world needs according to out Leadership Development Model.
AIESEC could not exist without our very important partners. This includes the companies we partner with that take trainees (interns), give us sponsorship, enable our brand as amplifiers, or are learning and development partners who provide us with training and consulting.
The main costs that arise during the year are connected to the education of our members, as well as keeping current processes, such as Marketing and the national board of AIESEC Germany up and running.
